The Canadian Society for Addiction Medicine (CSAM) is offering up to 20 bursaries to students and trainees interested in the field of addiction medicine to join ISAM-CSAM 2020 virtually. Each successful bursary applicant will receive a 1-year membership to CSAM, a 1-year subscription to the Canadian Journal of Addiction (CJA) and a full virtual registration to the conference. Karen Marie Mellor was the former CSAM-SMCA’s National Executive Assistant. Ms. Mellor was instrumental in CSAM-SMCA’s growth. She facilitated a number of key changes that allowed our organization to thrive. In October 2019, at the age of 56, Karen passed away having struggled with an illness related to smoking. In her memory, the CSAM-SMCA Board of Directors has established the Karen Mellor Award. The recipient of the CSAM Karen Mellor Award will receive full registration for the ISAM – CSAM 2020 Scientific Conference, including the CSAM Fundamentals Course and a $500 Cash award.
